Gonzales

10.07.2005

Live at Casino Barrière Montreux

A performer with a palette of talents, Gonzales first got noticed in 2000 with Gonzales Über Alles, an album bubbling over with styles as diverse as hip-hop, jazz, pop or electro. This professional showman, originally from the underground scene, again showed his talent with Presidential Suite with Feist as guest performer. Then as if he wanted to cover his tracks, this rapper turned into a peace-loving pianist, alone behind his piano. In this mutant Gonzales, you can nevertheless detect a boundless admiration for Ravel or Satie. His pianistic adventures are accompanied by the German Ninja Tune who films live the images of Gonzales' fingers as they run expertly over the keyboard. (FFJM © 2005)
