Dubbed the new queen of R&B, Alicia Keys was immersed in Soul culture from a tender age. After singing in churches and mastering the piano at the age of seven, the young girl acquired her vocal technique at a well-known school. It was not surprising that she was spotted by Clive Davis, Whitney Houston's producer, who encouraged her to produce her first album, Songs in A Minor. The result: over a million copies sold.
